Education Day 2022 Breakouts Bios

 

Joni Doiron is a travel industry executive leading sales and account management teams.  Her expertise expands in the areas of revenue growth, team management and client retention on a national and global scale.  Her passion is working with clients to develop out-of-the-box solutions for client program efficiencies, creating avenues of savings and enhancing customer satisfaction.  Her proven plans deliver management solutions dedicated to the success of every team member thought strategic development of skills to achieve goals. 

She has served on multiple GBTA committees, is a featured chapter speaker and has been in a leadership role for the Nebraska/Iowa GBTA chapter for the last 10 years.  Joni has recently been a Mentor though the GBTA Ladders Program. 

 

Remaining Relevant: Communicating via Social and Other Channels

Sharon Andrade is an innovative and passionate executive who has been leading and transforming teams for over 30 years.  Her applied and open approach to team development enables increased productivity and engagement, resulting in measurable improvement in team performance and other key metrics organizations desire, including employee retention, customer satisfaction and profitability. 

Sharon led marketing, sales and the call center at Pineapple Hospitality/Staypineapple, the sales organization at Red Lion Hotels and had multi-property sales and marketing oversight for Hilton Worldwide.

Prior to her roles as an executive in hospitality, Sharon was a leader with the Effectiveness Institute, where she had the opportunity to observe, assess and facilitate solutions for teams and leaders across industries from banking, credit unions, hospitality, and retail. 

Sharon passion for finding innovative, relevant and distinct approaches to continuous improvement and growth led her to found HLeadership.   The “H” is for hospitality as that is where her heart is.  She is an advocate and speaker focused on providing audiences with insights and “aha” moments that will push their thinking and challenge them to re-engage and re-energize their roles as leaders and members of a team.

“Connectability” Tech in Travel

Daniel Roose has been with SAP Concur since 2017 holding various Commercial and Product Planning roles focused on the Concur Travel ecosystem. He now leads a newly formed Concur Travel and solutions team, which concentrates on understanding and evaluating customer needs along with industry trends which are primary drivers for future SAP Concur product direction. Prior to joining SAP Concur, Daniel spent 13.5 years at American Airlines in a variety of roles including Corporate Finance, Information Technology, and Commercial Planning followed by a role in online marketing targeting the insurance industry. Daniel is originally from Lima, Peru. He received his MBA degree from the University of Michigan and currently resides in Seattle with his wife Kathy.

Supporting DEI Travelers Breakout Speakers

Chelsea Rodriguez started in the fall of 2019 at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and serves as the Airport Volunteers & Customer Accessibility Manager.  Chelsea supports SEA’s growing volunteer program while bringing an accessibility lens to customer service initiatives and programs for travelers with disabilities.  Recent customer service initiatives include elevating SEA’s involvement with the Sunflower Lanyard Program for travelers with hidden disabilities, producing physical accessibility brochures to better message offerings, creating a social story aimed at the autistic community, and more. 

 Although relatively new to airports, Chelsea is no stranger to accessibility, customer service, and volunteer engagement, having worked in the museum field for over a decade serving volunteers and guests of all backgrounds.

Heather Karch is the Architecture Manager in the Aviation Facility and Infrastructure department with almost 20 years of architectural experience in the public and private sector. Heather received her Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design, and Honors College certificate at Ball State University. She expanded her studies with a minor in Sustainable Land Systems and studied abroad in Copenhagen.

She started at the Port of Seattle in 2016 as an architect and advanced into the architecture management position in 2018. Her role includes providing architectural vision for future design at SEA, design review and direction on capital and expense projects, leading a team of architecture and signage staff, maintaining and updating design standards, asset management planning, managing expense projects, and is the Section 504/ADA Coordinator for the airport. In her professional career she has had the opportunity to work on multiple innovative projects and is committed to improving the built environment to elevate the passenger experience at SEA.

Outside of the work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family including two daughters; enjoying the beautiful Pacific NW outdoors through hiking, snow sports, and camping; reading, cooking, and movies.

Natalie started with International SOS in January 2021 as a Security Specialist and moved into her current role as an embedded analyst in June 2022. In her former role, Natalie evaluated risk profiles of travelers from diverse backgrounds to develop bespoke mitigation strategies for their journeys. In her current role, she helps manage the Travel Risk Program of a large technology company. Her role has a focus on educating travelers of the risks they face on their journeys and using technology to enhance risk mitigation. Natalie is also an avid traveler and a former foreign language teacher who embraced multicultural education.
