President's Report

It’s April and I’m very excited for what we’ve done so far, and what we’ve got coming up. And the sun. The Board is working hard to bring you interesting and relevant education along with opportunities to network and learn a little about what’s happening in our community. Just a few things we’ve done so far:
• January brought us the state of the state with Visit Seattle, February found us at Atlas for a social night, and the Gates Foundation hosted a fantastic meeting about what’s going on in their world. 
• We had the first Allied Members Forum, which will continue to be held in the upcoming year

With many other things coming in the horizon, I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting.

Direct member: Sara Satterlee - Consultant

1. Current position:  Program and Operations Manager (Currently Consulting)
2. How long have you been a member of PSBTA?: 1.5 years
3. What do you like most about PSBTA? First and foremost: the People! It’s wonderful (and inspiring) to be around so many people who are so consistently helpful, knowledgeable, supportive and resourceful. It’s fantastic that the group is comprised of such a broad range of expertise and that they actively participate in the sharing and learning. I’ve also really enjoyed the opportunity to visit a different venue each month and appreciate the mix of meeting topics (community education, inspirational, industry information). 
4. How long have you worked in travel? 2 years, Branch Office Travel Management – 12 years.
5. What made you interested working in travel?: IIn addition to being personally passionate about travel, Business Travel brings together so many operational and experience components that directly affect people. I LOVE partnering with teammates to work through operational puzzles and this is an area where results can be felt and measured. 
6. What is your favorite travel destination?: Africa, with Italy being a close 2nd…
7. What are you most excited about these days? While I’m holding onto pure bliss from a recent Tanzanian safari, I am really excited to focus in on the year ahead professionally and am looking forward to working more closely with everyone at PSBTA. That… and bringing my golf game back to a score that I don’t have to muffle when I say it out loud...

1. Current position:  Sales Manager, Oakwood Worldwide – Seattle Market
2. How long have you been a member of PSBTA?: 2.5 years
3. What do you like most about PSBTA? The community
4. How long have you worked in travel? Almost 3 years
5. What made you interested working in travel?:its global realm, working with people of different cultures, and it is a fun industry! 
6. What is your favorite travel destination?: Singapore – because of family and the food and is a hub to then hop off to another Asian destination, Australia or even Europe.
7. What are you most excited about these days? Corporate Social Responsibility and how each of us (individually or as a corporation) can step up to a bigger cause. As I pass that half century milestone, there is a bigger personal awareness to do something more than my job. My ultimate dream would be to be able to reach that alignment where my job is my passion and the work I do matters.

Claudia Rutt - Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hilton Garden Inn Bellevue

Claudia Rutt is recognized for her willingness to help wherever she can. She was a great help during the PSBTA Gala with the Silent Auction, November and December meetings helping with registration and selling bingo tickets. She continues to volunteer each month and is a great representative of PSBTA. Claudia is a graduate from University of Nevada Las Vegas with a degree in Hospitality and English.

·     You delight the traveler/travel arranger

o  Listen and lead the conversation to solve problems in a timely manner with all types of customers in all circumstances

o  Create domestic and international travel arrangements for clients to include air, hotel, and ground transportation. International travel arrangements should comprise 50% of total bookings

o  Build credibility and loyalty to CWT by ensuring consistency of service delivery (even if the person is unknown) around the globe in a way that compliments the unique travel policy of each client with interaction to make each traveler feel special

o  Be a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations which provide the very best traveler experience in each situation


·     You build CWT’s commercial value

o  Sell products that are of commercial value to CWT and contribute to CWT’s profitability

o  Operates with discretion for clients and the travel arrangers

o  Follow company procedures, guidelines and standards

o  Remain current on value we provide to each customer

o  Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate

o  Adapt and change as requirements of the business change

o  Embrace new technology and ways of working that promote flexibility to adjust quickly to shifting needs of the business

·     You represent and strengthen the CWT brand in how you work on a day-to-day basis



-Minimum High School diploma or equivalent

-This role is located at a client onsite in Seattle, WA

-Proven ability to create international travel arrangements including air, hotel and ground transportation (including transactions that are multi-segment/multi-destination)

-Great customer service skills

-Industry knowledge and travel reservation skills in order to create multi-segment, multi-destination international itineraries

-Complete knowledge of international travel requirements to include documentation and immunization requirements

-Skilled with Sabre GDS

-2-3 years’ experience in the travel industry in a similar position 

-Ability to meet and maintain required performance and productivity standards

-Excellent oral and written communication skills

-Ability to promote and embrace a team culture

-Knowledge of the Microsoft Excel, Avaya phone system, Moxie, and Power Express a plus
